Dana and Lilli Ann have many years of teaching experience and training to offer some of the best Zydeco instruction available. A keen understanding of movement and balance as well as knowledge of the critical aspects of partnering skills add greatly to the understanding, learning and enjoyment of dancers. Their Excellent attention to detail in demonstration, teaching, and the breaking down of moves allows students to easily understand and replicate steps on the dance floor. |
Perfected by frequent trips to Louisiana, Dana and Lilli Ann have a smooth, settled, yet
dynamic style with exciting fast footwork and hot moves. They were a direct hit at the
Puget Sound Zydeco Dance Camp in Seattle and at the spring CFLFM workshop in Berkeley,
California.

Their team teaching style is clear, concise and combined with humor to keep dancers interested and having fun. The teaching is also infused with theory to help advance dancer's overall skills.

Classes include Zydeco basics, intermediate
skill-building, Louisiana styling, the most recent hot moves from Louisiana and universal
dance concepts. The offerings are rounded out with the most recent class addition; a Dance
Concepts Class, Take Your Dance to A Whole New Level. The class uses whimsical and
outrageous props to help the students actually feel the concepts being taught. They also
teach a methodology for Zydeco that can help dancers adopt that grounded, sexy rhythmic
feel and look of Louisiana locals in their dance.
Dana, the founder of DP and the Rhythm Riders, a Bay Area Zydeco band,
brings his knowledge of music (and occasionally his accordion!,) into the class to add a
level of fun and interest. Dana was also a winner in the 2001 Big Easy Zydeco Dance
contest.
Lilli Ann, an excellent Zydeco, waltz, and swing dancer, brings her extensive experience in the traditional role of follower as well as an excellent knowledge of leading into her skill set for a very effective teaching combination.
